Fun-filled Kiddos Clay Art Workshop, Singapore

Last week my husband and one of his student took part in Singapore Musician Festival which is held once every two year. This year is the is the very first time Voice category is engaged. It used to be only for Pianos and Strings. Since I will be there for a couple of days, one of my ex-student's mom helped me to arrange a one-day clay workshop for Melody (her daughter) and her friends. Melody came to my workshop every week when they were living in Indonesia two years ago. Huge thanks to Melody's mom for her support and her kind offer to use the function room in her Condo for the workshop. It was such a great help  ^^

It was a very very very exciting workshop. These kiddos were so cute and full of ideas. I really enjoy teaching them. I will see you all again in the next session ^^

Excited parents and children...Ohh how I love this feeling

Red Wedding Frame

I made a special frame in red for my friend as a surprise wedding gift. I chose red because his invitation was in chinese style red color, a very brilliant happy colour. I made red roses, white daisies to add some contrast and bunch of green mini hydrangeas.

 While drying my clay flowers

I cut the invitation card to fit in the frame and arranged all my handmade flowers around it.

I was so excited to meet him to see his reaction on seeing this present, but unfortunately I fell ill on that day (T_T) I missed the party. Only my husband was going and I heard my friend was singing on his big day. Remembering that he was quite a shy man and on his big day he stood on the big stage and sang for more than 400 audiences was a must to witness.

Anyway...Happy Wedding Dear Friend!!! Wish you a blissful happy marriage life  \(^o^)/ Cheers!!

Saturday Happy Workshop - 18 June 2016

Today the workshop sessions are divided into two, kiddos group and bigger kids/adult group. The workshop was held at Sunshine Kidz Preschool, Jl. Taman Pluit Barat 1 no.1, Jakarta Utara.

First session was the Kiddos group. We were making name board with cute puppy character. The kids were free to choose their favourite colours and how they wanted to "style" their name board. Basically I taught them how to shape a puppy, alphabets and how to prepare for the background...the rest..it was up to them to style them. It was so fun to see how they decided on their design.

We use Padico Clay

Freya added some lashes to her little puppy and elaborated ribbon on the ear. She also added some rhinestones to made her name board shine, whereas Tasha added lots of tiny little transparent flower beads around her little puppy and some tiny colourful rattles.

Dan is a very neat boy, his work is verrrry neat and clean. He added tiny colorful rattles all around his name board, and in fact he arranged them very nicely. Derrick added lots tiny rattles around his blue puppy, too.

The bigger kids session were using Polymer Clay. They made miniature ice cream on miniature breads with various toppings of their likes.

Just like the kiddos group, they also got to choose their preferred ice cream flavour and also free to style their ice cream and free to arrange the pearls and crystal for the bagcharm.

I regretted that some pictures were a bit shaky. Maybe my husband was too hungry when he took those (^_^! )

That's all the report of today's workshop.
See you guys again in the next session

The fun of meeting new people and kids with brilliant ideas and seeing their excitement is one of the biggest reason why I choose the path to be a teacher in the past, now and then. ^^

If you are interested to join our workshop please do not hesitate to contact us to find out where is the closest location to you.

Paper Weight Miniature Succulent

Finally the paper weight stone I ordered have arrived safely. It took more than 3 weeks to get these beautiful stones in hand. They are from Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia. I have to admit that I am not a fast clay crafter, so I managed only to make 6 paper weight variations. My mind was planning for like 10 or a dozen..but.it turned out that I am always occupied by some other works especially house works and I need my tea time, reading time, gadget time, going to mall time, etc...so...only five is done and two is already taken.

The succulents are made from Modena (Japanes air dry clay from Padico). I love this clay!!

You can add messages on the stone to make it more personalized. I used acrylic paint but marker is fine, too.

This one is a gift to one of my craft supplier. I painted her shop's logo on the stone. Hope she love it.

These beautiful paper weight are available for purchase on Zibbet and Etsy. If you live in Indonesia, you can purchase from our local online shop for local unique handmade Qlapa. Everything is written in Bahasa Indonesia.

If you wish to make your very own handmade paper weight succulent, we will have this workshop coming up in July 2016. I will update more details on the workshop page and also on my Instagram account as well as facebook. Or you can also email to daftar@wewocraft.com to receive a monthly schedule of any workshops. They conduct various interesting craft workshops. You can also check them out on their Instagram.

Have a nice day!

Weekend Workshop -- Sunday, 12 June 2016

Today was a little bit hot but it was a clear fine day. Wewo Craft (Weekend Workshop organizer in Indonesia) arranged a fun clay workshop in Club Kembang, Kemang, Jakarta and I was invited to share my experience with the participants...well participant. I can't say participants because there was only one participant but I was more than delighted to share what I know about being creative with clay with this little young participant, Kayla (10yo). The other participant was the Wewo organizer herself. I suggested her to join so that she can have more understanding of what air dry clay is and of course have fun together with us.

The friendly organizer from Wewo Craft, Mba Rini. She is a multi talented lady. She is a master in knitting and also Shibori!!! The scarf she is wearing is her handmade

Kayla concentrating on her work

What we made this afternoon was beautiful clay roses, cute clay macaroon and assembled them on an antique chair adorned with pearl pins and crystal pins (of their choice).

And here is the result of almost 3 hours work without a break ^_^!

I love to see how the participant(s) decide on their choice of color and arrange their work..they are always refreshing

Thank you again for having me Wewo Craft. See you again in our next session.

If any of you are interested to receive information on Wewo Craft monthly workshop schedule, please send your email to daftar@wewocraft.com. You can also check them out on their Instagram.

A special gift to a special person...a Teacher

Today is my son's last day in Nursery. He will be Kindergarten student next term...Now he can already write and spell his own name, counting from 1-50, and recognizing alphabet from A-Z without any problem including the phonic perfectly...proud of you my love ^^  Of course all that skills and knowledge doesn't happen in just one night, all thanks to the hardwork, patience and passion of his beloved teacher, the best teacher ever..Miss Vivian in Sunshine Kidz Preschool.

Thank You Teacher. You have turned Ethan from a zero knowledge and uncontrollable little boy into a responsible, smart and love to draw little boy. You have built all the positive characters in him.

Thank you again...I am sure Ethan is now more than ready for Kindergarten

As a mom and crafter, presenting my handmade is the best way to express my gratefulness. I believe handmade makes more meaningful gift.
