Saturday Happy Workshop - 18 June 2016

Today the workshop sessions are divided into two, kiddos group and bigger kids/adult group. The workshop was held at Sunshine Kidz Preschool, Jl. Taman Pluit Barat 1 no.1, Jakarta Utara.

First session was the Kiddos group. We were making name board with cute puppy character. The kids were free to choose their favourite colours and how they wanted to "style" their name board. Basically I taught them how to shape a puppy, alphabets and how to prepare for the background...the rest..it was up to them to style them. It was so fun to see how they decided on their design.

We use Padico Clay

Freya added some lashes to her little puppy and elaborated ribbon on the ear. She also added some rhinestones to made her name board shine, whereas Tasha added lots of tiny little transparent flower beads around her little puppy and some tiny colourful rattles.

Dan is a very neat boy, his work is verrrry neat and clean. He added tiny colorful rattles all around his name board, and in fact he arranged them very nicely. Derrick added lots tiny rattles around his blue puppy, too.

The bigger kids session were using Polymer Clay. They made miniature ice cream on miniature breads with various toppings of their likes.

Just like the kiddos group, they also got to choose their preferred ice cream flavour and also free to style their ice cream and free to arrange the pearls and crystal for the bagcharm.

I regretted that some pictures were a bit shaky. Maybe my husband was too hungry when he took those (^_^! )

That's all the report of today's workshop.
See you guys again in the next session

The fun of meeting new people and kids with brilliant ideas and seeing their excitement is one of the biggest reason why I choose the path to be a teacher in the past, now and then. ^^

If you are interested to join our workshop please do not hesitate to contact us to find out where is the closest location to you.

Paper Weight Miniature Succulent

Finally the paper weight stone I ordered have arrived safely. It took more than 3 weeks to get these beautiful stones in hand. They are from Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia. I have to admit that I am not a fast clay crafter, so I managed only to make 6 paper weight variations. My mind was planning for like 10 or a dozen..but.it turned out that I am always occupied by some other works especially house works and I need my tea time, reading time, gadget time, going to mall time, etc...so...only five is done and two is already taken.

The succulents are made from Modena (Japanes air dry clay from Padico). I love this clay!!

You can add messages on the stone to make it more personalized. I used acrylic paint but marker is fine, too.

This one is a gift to one of my craft supplier. I painted her shop's logo on the stone. Hope she love it.

These beautiful paper weight are available for purchase on Zibbet and Etsy. If you live in Indonesia, you can purchase from our local online shop for local unique handmade Qlapa. Everything is written in Bahasa Indonesia.

If you wish to make your very own handmade paper weight succulent, we will have this workshop coming up in July 2016. I will update more details on the workshop page and also on my Instagram account as well as facebook. Or you can also email to daftar@wewocraft.com to receive a monthly schedule of any workshops. They conduct various interesting craft workshops. You can also check them out on their Instagram.

Have a nice day!

Weekend Workshop -- Sunday, 12 June 2016

Today was a little bit hot but it was a clear fine day. Wewo Craft (Weekend Workshop organizer in Indonesia) arranged a fun clay workshop in Club Kembang, Kemang, Jakarta and I was invited to share my experience with the participants...well participant. I can't say participants because there was only one participant but I was more than delighted to share what I know about being creative with clay with this little young participant, Kayla (10yo). The other participant was the Wewo organizer herself. I suggested her to join so that she can have more understanding of what air dry clay is and of course have fun together with us.

The friendly organizer from Wewo Craft, Mba Rini. She is a multi talented lady. She is a master in knitting and also Shibori!!! The scarf she is wearing is her handmade

Kayla concentrating on her work

What we made this afternoon was beautiful clay roses, cute clay macaroon and assembled them on an antique chair adorned with pearl pins and crystal pins (of their choice).

And here is the result of almost 3 hours work without a break ^_^!

I love to see how the participant(s) decide on their choice of color and arrange their work..they are always refreshing

Thank you again for having me Wewo Craft. See you again in our next session.

If any of you are interested to receive information on Wewo Craft monthly workshop schedule, please send your email to daftar@wewocraft.com. You can also check them out on their Instagram.

If you are keen to join a cute bag charm making workshop or if your little siblings or maybe your child is a creative person, there is another workshops coming up o 18 June 2016. Please see the details at my workshop page. There are two types of workshops, for kids and adult (older kids).

A special gift to a special person...a Teacher

Today is my son's last day in Nursery. He will be Kindergarten student next term...Now he can already write and spell his own name, counting from 1-50, and recognizing alphabet from A-Z without any problem including the phonic perfectly...proud of you my love ^^  Of course all that skills and knowledge doesn't happen in just one night, all thanks to the hardwork, patience and passion of his beloved teacher, the best teacher ever..Miss Vivian in Sunshine Kidz Preschool.

Thank You Teacher. You have turned Ethan from a zero knowledge and uncontrollable little boy into a responsible, smart and love to draw little boy. You have built all the positive characters in him.

Thank you again...I am sure Ethan is now more than ready for Kindergarten

As a mom and crafter, presenting my handmade is the best way to express my gratefulness. I believe handmade makes more meaningful gift.

Lebaran Wreath

Lebaran or Eid Mubarak is an important religous celebration by the Moslem worlwide to mark the end of holy month of fasting period. In Indonesia, Ketupat is the must have food for the celebration. Ketupat is a kind of steamed rice dumpling packed in a diamond shaped woven palm leaves.

Every year I see Christmas wreath everywhere but I hardly encounter any Lebaran Wreath, so this time I decided to create a special Lebaran Wreath by combining Gerrberra, Roses, Hydrangea, Daisies, Carnation and Ketupat.

The Ketupat is store bought and they are made of woven ribbon

Love for Succulents

Honestly I don't know all the name of the succulents or species, but I love looking at them. I made some miniatures of succulents 2 months ago for the Easter Bazaar and now I am making a slightly bigger size succulents to fit to daily use or just decoration.

As bagcharm these baby succulents look perfect ^^

I use Japanese air dry clay (Modena from Padico) to create these succulents you see in the pictures below. Modena is an air dry polymer clay and is water resistant. It comes in several colors and very easy to use. I love it... the finish result is almost the same as baked polymer clay, hard and strong.

I got this mini antique chair from Daiso shop, the shop that sells everything at one price and they have a lot of super cute stuff to support craft lover like me :)

I believe it is important to stay close to Nature and these tiny babies are perfect as paper weight on our working desk. No watering required, stays pretty the whole year round and as good as candy to our eyes.

Have a nice day ^^

Trip to Japan

Hi.. finally I am back to Indonesia. I came back last week and was right away occupied with so many works and preparation for Bazaar (yesterday). The Bazaar was pretty quiet...so much different from the previous Bazaar I joined. Well, perhaps it was on the weekday and it was in an office building, or maybe my luck was bad yesterday >,<

Yeah..as I wrote on the title of the post "Trip to Japan"...I went to Japan for two weeks. Of course it wasn't any travelling program, it was skill-upgrading trip. I was very happy, overwhelmed, excited and any other positive feelings I could describe despite I was sooo tired (Salonpas all over my body and arms) in order to rush the intensive module specially designed by my teacher for me. Thank you so much Ozaki Sensei ^^

I have been yearning to have lesson at Deco Clay Craft Academy Japan, and finally after 5 years of waiting, my dream came true!! Now I am a member of Deco \(^0^)/ It wasn't an easy process. There are so many curriculum I have to overcome and exam is compulsory!! Can you imagine that? there is no such thing as exam for craft in my country, but Deco has one and it is a high-standard test which I will be rewarded a certificate for the big effort. I am looking forward for that day...I will be returning to Japan again in November this year for further upgrading and the exam. My teacher threw me bunch of homework to prepare before I see her again (^_^!)

Me (left) and My Sensei (right)

Here I share the pictures of my works I have to finished there in 7 days..no bargain! ^_^

After I finished my lesson, my Sensei rewarded me with a visit to Hobby Show Japan 2016. It was like heaven to all crafters. Trust me!!! You will love everything you see there and you will want to join all the workshops, buy all the stuff and be there for the whole day >o<

And last...reward for my son for being so supportive to me, sending me off for my lesson every morning, meeting me somewhere after lesson and always be there to 'annoy' me when I was busy with my homework lol ^_^

Disneyland!!!!

See you again with more pictures of my works ^^
